Death
Mother Death comes into homes unannounced,She saluted my father with a cold grip around his heart,The world’s oldest debt collector,No negotiation,She heeds no prayers,Your weeping worthless currency,When She comes to you unannounced and greets you with her longing gaze,Know she has come for a debt borrowed,One owed for the gift given by Father Life,A Mother uninvited who brings no warmth to your spirit,One above your house rules casting shadow over your esteem,A debtor born, a debt earned,When death comes to me unannounced and greets me with her cold gaze,She will be welcomed with a gaze yet colder,Saluted with a cold a grip as I can muster
